Item Piper Fine-Motor Activity Challenges(2016) Piper, JordanThe PF-MAC is a module that allows the client to focus on fine motor coordination and dexterity. The PF-MAC has several different activities that the therapist has the option to set up or allow the client to choose from. This module is designed to allow the therapist to work with their client to address performance components in a fun and meaningful way. Some of these activities include nuts, bolts, and washers, marbles, checkers, chess, tic-tac-toe, lacing, rubberband stretch, peg cognition test, mirror therapy and tool use activities. These activities may be adapted to provide the client with a “Just right challenge” by using the PF-MAC in a horizontal, vertical, or angled position. The therapist and the client may (and are strongly recommended to) create additional games and find additional uses besides the brief set of activities listed in this booklet.Item I Feel Better When I'm Dancing(2016) Fleming, KatelynDancing provides many great benefits to occupational therapy. The Occupational Therapy Play and Storage Bench(2016-04) Wills, KelliThis is no ordinary bench. With this simple design, one can evaluate and perform an endless variety of interventions without ever having to relocate. What makes this possible is the amazing ability of this bench to transform into a table. The inside allows for a great deal of storage and endless possibilities. When not being utilized as an intervention tool, this feature can still be used as seating, thus not wasting any space. OT clinics can easily become cramped and crowded when there is limited space and this bench solves many of those problems. Occupational therapists have flexibility, creativity, a surplus of ideas and can really be considered the multi-tool of the healthcare industry. Therefore, this workstation was designed to reflect the same versatile characteristics. The only limits as to what can be done with this bench is your own imagination. I have included some ideas of items that could be stored within this bench and grouped them into stations. I hope you enjoy creating this item and coming up with even more creative ways to use it!Item "Have You Taken Your Meditation Today" Kit(2016-04) Golden, KallieA meditation kit for occupational therapists and other like minded professionals to use with their clients.Item O.T. I saw a playground, a fort, a mountain to climb, monkey bars, a great hide-and-seek spot, and a place to relax. Similarly, I now view the library through different eyes. It holds limitless potential if only we branch out and exercise a healthy blend of childlike vision and clinical reasoning. This book was designed to tap into a resource communities already possess – the library – for a therapeutic purpose. Each library resource or activity can address a variety of performance components. It is all about viewing them through different eyes and tailoring it to your clients’ needs.Item Yoga for Your Life(2017) Orick, RyanThis project utilizes yoga to address issues a person might be having to increase his or her quality of life.Item Spread the Word, Senses Matter: An Educational Tool for Sensory Processing Disorder(2017) Bradshaw, SadieAn educational tool for those wanting to learn or teach others about Sensory Processing Disorder. This area is a place that a child can go when they are feeling stressed out or over stimulated. The project includes a child's tent, a weighted sleeping bag for proprioceptive input, tactile s'more pillows, a bolster log for vestibular input, and videos that provide soothing auditory and visual input. Incorporating the outdoors into therapy is important because of the many sensory benefits that the outdoors provides. This program may be used with children who have already been observed bullying a child with or without special needs, but it is purposefully structured for use with children who the professional using the program may deem at risk for bullying. This interactive program, designed most specifically for counselors, can most beneficially be used to help teach a bully, in a one-on-one setting, the consequences of their actions by what perspective and feelings the victim may be suffering from as a result of the bullying. Although designed for optimal use in an individualized setting, this may also be used as a classroom activity involving inclusion classrooms and general education classrooms for use of educational purposes in perspective taking on children who may look and act different than the typical population.Item Lates Shuffleboard Fine Motor Fun(2017-04-12) Lates, WilliamThis game was created to be a tabletop version of the game shuffleboard, and is played very similarly to the games Crokinole or Carrom.
