Abstract:

Beginning in the 2005-2006 academic year, the course HIST 494 Senior Thesis Seminar was offered as a requirement for history majors. This collection includes some of the final papers from the class sessions of 2007 to the present.

Administrative History:

Beginning in the 2005-2006 academic year, the course HIST 494 Senior Thesis Seminar was offered as a team-taught class required for history majors. It is still offered in the spring term as a capstone class for the history majors. Faculty co-teaching this class have included Lee Blackburn, Gary Daught, Tim Dillon, Craig Farmer, and Ted Thomas.

Arrangement:

The papers are arranged into series chronologically and alphabetical by last name within series.

The collection is divided into ten series, with each new year adding a series: I. Series: HIST 494 Seminar 2007; II. Series: HIST 494 Seminar 2008; III. Series: HIST 494 Seminar 2009; IV. Series: HIST 494 Seminar 2010; V. Series: HIST 494 Seminar 2011; VI. Series: HIST 494 Seminar 2012; VII. Series: HIST 494 Seminar 2013; VIII. Series: HIST 494 Seminar 2014; XI. Each series contains the student papers collected by Dr. Tim Dillon and sent to the archives for archival purposes every spring semester. This is an open, active records group, so the collection will continue to grow.
