Abstract:

The Frank Hannah Papers span 1946 to 1966, covering the tenure of local businessman Frank Devault Hannah on Milligan’s Board of Trustees. Included in the collection are reports, minutes, and other files of an administrative nature, as well as correspondence from notable Milligan figures.

Biographical Note:

Frank Devault Hannah was born in 1891. He was president of Unaka Stores in Erwin, TN. Hannah was also chairman of Milligan’s Board of Trustees from 1950-1955. He continued to be on the Board of Trustees until 1966, when he died. He is buried in Johnson City, TN.

Arrangement:

The collection is arranged into three series: I. Series: MC Boards, 1955-1964; II. Series: Correspondence, 1953-1964; Other Papers, 1946-1966. The collection was presumably kept in its original order as it arrived in the possession of the archives.

Scope and Content Note:

The papers of Frank Hannah are arranged into three series, MC Boards, Correspondence, and Other Papers. The MC Boards series spans 1955 to 1964 and contains minutes, reports, and other files related to the various Milligan College boards. The Correspondence series spans 1953 to 1964 and includes correspondence from various Milligan persons and groups corresponding with Milligan. The Other Papers series spans 1946 to 1966 and includes a variety of files from deeds and other board materials to personal papers.
